selfness and otherness:

Over the course of my life, I have developed a feeling about the world which reflects the hard acceptance of a specific reality. The perception of this reality can only come through one's own eyes and body: a flawed single viewpoint that can lead to isolation and lack of understanding, if a sense of humbleness and hunger is not developed.

Through using multiple techniques, from theater (make-up, costume and scene design) to analog photography and nowadays mostly drawing, illustration, and comics, I wish to not only dwell in the depths of our attempts to merge with others, but also in what shields us, what keeps us apart. To explore these themes, drawing has become the medium which brings together all my past artistic expressions. Through this medium, I explore societal and individual relationships, as well as how people continuously construct and change their surroundings from the inside out.

In my work, connection, self-reflection and empathy are reflected on the imagery of the body and its (our) blending points.
